Amelia Ley: RnRC4G Student Resources
The purpose of my website is to allow Portland Rock Camp students access to all the information they've been taught after a day or week, either as a reminder or as a resource if they are absent. This website will also contain other info about whatever instrument they are taking. Teachers can get ideas for lessons from the past lessons of other teachers and easily communicate and track what they are planning to work on with students.

Halloween
Today during class I helped Hannah Cutts make some instruments and film some of her creations. I'm going to work on my own project more this evening. I'm going to make a list of songs with easy/distinct beats. CAMP STARTS ON THE 12TH!! AHHH!! THEN THE SITE WILL BE REAL. YAY.

I've been...
...learning about musicality because that is something I've never been good at with drumming and I'm trying to focus on it more in preparation for explaining musicality in drumming to students for the first time this year.

What I've Been Working On
Recently I was asked by Lisa Schonberg (of Thao With The Get Down Stay Down, STLS, Explode into Colors, and Kickball) to write a couple articles for the next issue of Tom Tom Magazine. This issue will be focused on submissions from young drummers and I'm working on writing a piece about technique and an interview with Amie Higuchi who I was in Wind Ensemble with for two years.
My Rock Camp work has been stalled because the camp is a nonprofit and is going though some changes to keep running. This weekend I'll be having band practice and my bassist and guitarist are going to be starting their pages on my website. The next couple things I post on this blog will be a little more filling you in on what I've been doing all this time.

Initial Set-Up
The purpose of my website is to allow Portland Rock Camp students access to all the information they've been taught after a day or week, either as a reminder or as a resource if they are absent. This website will also contain other info about whatever instrument they are taking. Teachers can get ideas for lessons from the past lessons of other teachers and easily communicate and track what they are planning to work on with students. I've been working on getting the layout working and getting other teachers on board.
